This chapel belongs to the Parish of St. Michael and is
dedicated to Notre-Dame-des-Neiges, which stands on the high pastures of Verdonaz, at 2317 meters above sea level.
Built with stones found on site, joined by lime and cement transported from Oyace on the back of a mule, the chapel was built in 1942 by Amato Rosset, of Quart, as a thank you for the priestly ordinations of his sons Camillo and Giulio, which took place respectively in 1939 and 1942.
In August 1980 Giulio and Camillo Rosset donated the chapel and 500 square meters of land to the Church of Oyace.
In 1992, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary, an iron cross weighing 7 quintals, forged in Saint-Pierre, was placed near the small sacred building, on which a copper Christ of 70 kilos was placed. On August 5th of each year, for the feast of Our Lady of the Snows, a large number of faithful go up to Verdonaz to attend a Holy Mass.
the municipality of oyace has equipped the church bell tower with a new and modern system to control the four bells and the tower clock with four new external dials with a diameter of 150 cm. On the occasion of the restoration of the clock, the original colors that once characterized it appeared.
