The first church was built at the end of the 16th century, and a priest called \u2018rector\u2019 was established in it in 1634. It became a parish church in 1775, was built in its present form in 1788, and enlarged towards the west in 1915. The following year the painter Francesco Margotti took care of the paintings: four large scenes relating to the Eucharist and the saints of popular devotion in Valle d\u2019Aosta. The statue of Saint Michael (16th century) is remarkable, made of carved wood and heavily repainted.
\nThe church underwent restoration work in 2018 thanks
\nto the contribution of the municipality of Oyace and the commitment of the parish priest Fr Ivano Reboulaz. On this occasion, the municipality of Oyace and the regional Superintendency of Cultural Heritage helped to set up a Museum of Sacred Art consisting of a number of items, described below, which bear witness to simple and sincere devotion:
\n– Architectural monstrance in silver-plated metal with
\ncylindrical glass (19th century);
\n– Astylar cross: the silver-plated brass covering is
\nprinted with scrolls of vine leaves and acanthus leaves
\n(19th century);
\n– Astylar cross, entirely in cast brass, and, on the reverse side, Madonna and Child (19th cent.);
\n– Cast bronze processional cross (18th cent.);
\n– Reliquary bust of St. Peter (19th century);
\n– Carved and painted wooden crucifix, worked in the
\nround (18th century);
\n– Other small objects used in the liturgy: incense thurible, reliquary casket, tin box with holy oils, bell, silver-plated pyx, wooden palm holder;
